Every pistol we sell ships through an FFL transfer. That means your new Shadow Systems MR920 goes to a federally licensed firearms dealer near you, and you pick it up there after a background check. It sounds formal, but the process is quick and most buyers finish it in one short visit.

How an FFL Transfer Works, Step by Step
- Pick your pistol. Browse the Shadow Systems MR920 shop and add your model to the cart.
- Choose a local FFL dealer. Any licensed gun shop or kitchen-table FFL that does transfers will work. Call them first to confirm their transfer fee and hours.
- Check out. Enter the dealer’s name and location in the order notes, or reply to your confirmation email with their details.
- We verify the license. We confirm the dealer’s FFL before the pistol leaves our hands.
- Your pistol ships. You get a tracking number once it is on the way.
- Complete the paperwork. At the dealer, you fill out ATF Form 4473 and pass the background check, then the pistol is yours.
FFL Transfer Fees and What to Bring
Your local dealer sets their own transfer fee, which usually ranges from about $25 to $75. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID with your current address. Some states also require a permit, license or waiting period, so ask your dealer what applies to you. The ATF FFL listing can help you find licensed dealers in your area.
Shipping Times
Most in-stock orders ship within a few business days once we have your FFL details on file. Transit time depends on the carrier and distance, and firearm shipments always require an adult signature at the dealer.
Age and State Restrictions
Federal law requires handgun buyers to be at least 21 years old when purchasing from a dealer. Some states and cities limit magazine capacity or restrict certain models. If you live in California or Massachusetts, shop our CA and MA compliant MR920 collection. We will not ship a pistol to a location where it cannot be legally transferred, and we will contact you if anything about your order needs attention.
Common FFL Transfer Questions
Can a pistol ship to my house?
No. Handguns must go to a licensed dealer, never to a private residence.
What if my background check is delayed?
Your dealer can usually hold the pistol while the check finishes. If a transfer is denied, contact us and we will explain your options under our firearm return policy.
Do accessories ship the same way?
Items that are not firearms, such as magazines where legal, can usually ship directly to you. Only the pistol itself requires an FFL transfer.
Still have questions? Read the MR920 FAQ or contact Modern Warriors and we will walk you through your FFL transfer.
